HCG Diet For You (medically supervised)
This diet is offered under the supervision of Dr. Sophia Yang, MD, and Pamela Mulligan, RN, CYI.
The HCG diet consists of three phases and its goal is to give you the necessary skills to achieve and sustain a lifelong nutrition pattern to maximize your metabolism and not just lose weight.
The first phase to the program is to get blood tests that are ordered by your physician. The physician will then analyze the results and develop a program specifically customized for you. An appointment will be set for you to meet with the physician and you will begin your program. The second phase consists of a personalized diet combined with a body fitness program.
Once you have obtained your optimal weight loss you will begin the final phase. The maintenance phase allows you to still enjoy the foods you love (in moderation) without having to worry about dieting again.

What is HCG and how does it work?
HCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is a hormone naturally produced in the body. It has many functions and is used medically to treat a variety of conditions. It is the pregnancy hormone, but during pregnancy the levels double every 2 days. This hormone allows the body to mobilize fat and use it as energy for mother and fetus. This acts as a "fail-safe" mechanism when energy is needed immediately. For weight loss, we use a very small amount of HCG to capitalize on this mechanism. Using HCG in this way does not mimic pregnancy, in fact, it can be safely used to both men and women.
HCG is extremely safe. All women experience very high levels during the nine months of pregnancy with no adverse side effects. The HCG diet is safe and effective for both women and men. The low dose HCG has no sexual or feminizing effects on men. Men often show greater weight reduction effect than women.
