Why is hydration important for your skin and body? Everybody should have a hint of how important is the hydration during Summer months. First of all your mood change and you get more excited to hike, walk, run, bike, do exercise in general. In order to have a great success, you need to think about hydration. The ideal hydration per day should be 8 to 10 cups per day (the caffeine content drinks should not be included in this count).
In terms of skin care one first step as we discussed before is to apply moisturizer with vitamin C. The next step is to maintain your body hydrated as much as you can drinking the right amount of liquid and also electrolytes if needed.
If you are running a marathon it is wise to drink 8 ounces of a sport drink or water possibly every 20 minutes. If you exercise less than 40 minutes only water is fine. If you exercise over 40 minutes you need some sugar or salt in it. How about vitamin added to the drink is used for recovery and post event muscle soreness not for hydration the day of the event.
You should drink 16 ounces before an exercise to have some extra fluids. You can even check if your hydration is enough, check the color of your urine. If it is pale to very clear you are well hydrated, if darker more concentrated urine suggest you may need more fluid. Too much water only in athletes can cause hyponatremia which is not good, this is the reason to choose for the fluids with electrolytes.
